Meet the doctors

 

             

Dr. Jack Miksch is a 1978 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry.  He received his B.S. degree in physiological optics, also from Ohio State.  While practicing optometry in Ohio at a health maintenance organization, Dr. Miksch completed his Virginia boards in optometry and joined the Patterson Eye Clinic in 1985. 

Dr. Miksch enjoys camping as scoutmaster of his boy scout troop, long-distance cycling, and boating and water sports with his wife, Suzanne, and two sons.  His professional interests include contact lens fittings and the management of eye disease. He is a member of the Richmond Optometric Society, the Virginia Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.

 

Dr. Peter Nardone was born and raised on Long Island, New York, and attended Hofstra University, graduating in 1981 with a degree in biology.  From there he went to the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, and received his degree, with honors, in 1985.

After various externships in community health centers and Boston's Veteran's Hospital, Dr. Nardone came to Richmond and has been with the Patterson Eye Clinic since 1985.  He is a member of the Richmond Optometric Society, the Virginia Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Nardone lives on a small farm in Montpelier, Virginia, with his wife, Jane, and their three horses and cat.  A private pilot and passionate bodybuilder, he also enjoys watching football and lacrosse. 

Dr. Nardone has postgraduate training and is certified in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease.

 

Dr. Laurel Loukx came to the Patterson Eye Clinic in 1988.  Immediately after graduating from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1987, she practiced at the Morrison Associates, a large specialty contact lens practice with offices in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Park Avenue, New York.  She did externships at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona and at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia.

Dr. Loukx attended Iowa State University and Virginia Tech as a biology major and in 1984 was accepted for early admission to the Pennsylvania College of Opometry, where she received a Bachelor of Science in ocular science after her first year.

Dr. Loukx is also a member of the Richmond Optometric Society, the Virginia Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.  She has additional training and therapeutic licensure for the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease.

While not seeing patients at PEC, Dr. Loukx rides her horses and enjoys rural living with her husband, Jim, two wonderful children, and four adopted pets.

In her teens, Dr. Loukx lived several years in the Andes of Venezuela.  Ella habla espanol.
